Daypack

The Osprey Dyna and Duro 15 are the ultimate in trail comfort! Designed for running they are just at home on extended daywalks and will cover all your Oxfam Trailwalker needs. Convenient features like trekking pole storage, included hydration, soft flask compatibility (for your electrolytes) and bounce-free carry it is the pack for aspiring adventurers everywhere.

Rain Jacket

When you think of quality outdoor clothing the first brand that comes to mind for many is Arc’teryx.

The Arc’teryx Zeta AR for both Women and Men use Gore-Tex’s C-KNIT backer technology which provides protection with exceptional comfort. The proven bi-component GORE-TEX® membrane system is bonded to a dense, extremely thin circular knit to form a supple, less bulky, durable laminate that is more breathable and lighter weight than previous constructions. The circular knit’s soft, smooth texture is comfortable, quiet, and helps the Zeta easily slide on and off over other layers.

Featuring WaterTight pit zips that provide rapid ventilation and a hip length with drop back hem extends coverage and rides comfortably under a hipbelt. An internal laminated pocket stows and protects a smartphone or wallet, and two hand pockets with WaterTight™ zippers are accessible while wearing a pack.

The Arc’teryx Zeta AR optimises everything an award winning, benchmark waterproof breathable jacket should be.

Shoes

The his & hers Scarpa Proton shoes are ideal for endurance events like Oxfam Trailwalker (or..ahem…sub-optimal fitness).  The Proton’s Vibram Genesis soles with their nice deep lugs still have enough support and cushioning for the lugs not to dig into your feet on concrete (like we’ve found with some more minimalist shoes) but are more than enough to give you plenty of grip on the trail.

You will appreciate that extra support while walking and for those who want to try and keep your feet that bit dryer there is a waterproof/breathable Gore-Tex lined option.

Headlamp

Travelling at night can be the toughest part of the Oxfam Trailwalker. Use a head torch to keep your hands free for balance and don’t compromise on the power of the light. A wide strong beam that has adjustability will help you stay emotionally and mentally strong.

Rechargeable head lamps from the likes of Petzl, Black Diamond and Led Lenser are a cost effective option. Of course there are plenty of options available, so help cut through the confusion and get you seeing brightly, we have compiled a simply guide to headlamps here.

Walking Poles

Black Diamond’s Distance Carbon Z is ideal for Oxfam Trailwalker’s who want to travel light and fast. With 100% carbon construction, the Carbon Z weighs a paltry 280 grams and features a three-section foldable design that allows for fast-response deployment, so you’ll never think about leaving your poles behind. Non-scarring rubber Tech Tips and a lightweight, EVA foam grip round out this pole as a lightweight detail-driven pillar in pole tech.

Duffel Bag

A duffel bag is a great way to keep all your kit together while your support crew moves it from place to place. The Osprey Transporter has been redesigned for summer 201/18 and has set the new benchmark for durable and easy to operate duffel bags. Read Lachlan’s review here.
