The Summit Series® Men’s Cipher Hood Jacket is made from wind impermeable, breathable Gore Windstopper® soft shell that also sheds moisture. The performance fit Cipher provides active freedom of movement and excels at delivering quick drying weather protection under the most hostile of conditions. Wind is a climber’s enemy and Windstopper® stops it dead. The integral hood means that there is no neck gap for heat sapping wind to penetrate. Softshell combines the comfort of a soft mid layer with the weather resistance of a shell in one garment and it is still highly effective at breathing so the athlete keeps comfortable and drier. Pit zips enhance ventilation for the most strenuous of activities in the Cipher Hood Jacket.

Paddy Pallin is proud to stand behind the products we sell. Should you change your mind, you are welcome to return goods for a refund within 14 days from receipt of goods or exchange within 30 days from receipt of goods. Goods must be accompanied by proof of purchase, be in original purchase condition and include packaging. No "change of mind" returns on safety & climbing gear, underwear and clearance items. Clearance items are non-refundable but can be exchanged for different sizes if available.

- Is the North Face Cipher Hood Jacket waterproof? I am trying to find a lightweight wind and waterproof jacket that I can use to walk and fly fish for trout during mid winter in the Snowy Mountains. Would this be suitable?

  This jacket is only windproof and can only withstand light spray, so I don't think it will be suitable for your needs.
  
  Mid winter seasoned jackets that are lightweight are not so easy to come by as the two categories compromise each other, but I presume you'll be in waders whilst fishing?
  For lightweight, waterproof choices there are three jackets that come to mind: The Northface Leonidas, Exofficio Rain Logic and the Patagonia Torrent Shell Jackets. All three are easily packable. You may need to keep a good layer underneath like a thermal and a polarfleece.
  There are two others that are slightly more denser and longer in length: Patagonia Storm Jacket and Helly Hansen Dubliner Jacket. They're still a lighter weight jacket in our range but depending on size they weigh close to 1000g.
