90th Anniversary Competition Series Highlights Paddy October 2, 2020 Community This year we are proud to be celebrating 90 years in the business of supplying quality outdoor adventure gear. To celebrate we wanted to share our history of adventure and have a chance to see some of the amazing outdoor pursuits that our customers go on. Over 8 weeks we ran weekly themed photo competitions with exciting prized. We were inundated with spectacular shots from so many different adventures from around the world, and we wanted to share some of these amazing pictures with you. Week 1 – Snow Adventure To kick off the competition and celebrate winter, we wanted to see a picture from a snowy adventure. Paddy Pallin was a keen snow lover and from 1965 until 1999 held The Paddy Pallin Cross Country Classic, a 60km race exploring the NSW Alpine Backcountry. Here are a few of our favourite entries from week 1. ‘To cute to be cold!!!’ – Jane M. NSW ‘Our Wilderness Equipment tent turned igloo in the Utah mountains on a dirtbag honeymoon of the USA’ – Seb N. Victoria ‘Axe swinging practise during the Remarkables Ice & Mixed Festival’ – Peter Z. WA Week 2 – Overnight Hike This week we wanted to see a picture from an overnight hike. When Paddy first came to Australia in 1926 he was an experienced English outdoorsman and was keen to explore his new home.
