The course consisted of a great mixture of trail running, coasteering, mountain biking and kayaking. With over $3500 in prizes from Paddy Pallin, Marmot and Icebreaker up for grabs each day the competition was fierce. On Saturday the Armstrong brothers continued their good form from last year and took out a tightly contested mens race. Jenny and Damien Enderby backed up last years win at Glenrock with a win in the mixed race while Sue Pretto & Laura Renshaw came first in the women’s. Sundays race had a few less competitors however the racing was no less competitive with Lynette Brigden & Vicki Humpherson taking the win in the womens class, the mens was won by Greg Barbour & Michael Ridley-Smith and the mixed saw Scott Bennett & Diana Slack celebrate Valentines day in style. For 2016 a novice category has been added to the Paddy Pallin Adventure Series. The course has been designed for beginners or those teams just wanting a shorter race as its half the distance of the Classic course. After receiving some Adventure Racing tips from Gary of Maximum Adventures the hooter sounded and the teams where off. Shannon Pinney & Talia Waelsch had the win for the women, the father & son team of Jason & Oscar Swan won the mens while Jen Fagan & Lars Frihagen fought off cramps in the mixed. As usual there was a large amount of people racing in their first adventure race, coming away with some great stories and big smiles. The nature of the Paddy Pallin Adventure Series makes the day perfect for the weekend warrior who wants to enjoy the outdoors with a friend and have some fun along the way. As bonus all teams who stayed for the presentation went into the chance to win vouchers from Paddy Pallin. Thanks to Marmot and Icebreaker for their support and a huge congratulations to all the participants and full results for both Saturday and Sunday can be found here.
