As a Gear Consultant, you’ll become part of a close-knit, values-driven team that’s committed to ethical, sustainable, and expert outdoor retailing.

This is an entry-level position perfect for someone who loves the outdoors, enjoys customer interaction, and wants to learn more about the gear that makes adventures possible.

 

What You’ll Do

• Deliver friendly, solution-focused service to every customer, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported
• Share your growing knowledge of outdoor equipment, clothing, and footwear to help customers choose gear suited to their activities, experience, and environments
• Promote responsible gear use, sustainability features, and proper maintenance
• Process sales and returns accurately through our POS systems
• Assist with in-store presentation, stock replenishment, and promotional displays
• Support store operations including Click & Collect, stock receival, and warranty processes
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Customer-first mindset and strong interpersonal skills
• Prior customer service experience (retail preferred)
• Enthusiastic about the outdoors and outdoor gear
• Knowledge of outdoor activity experience (e.g. bushwalking, trail running, climbing)
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and adapt in a fast-paced retail setting
• Basic computer literacy and POS confidence

 

Desirable:

• Experience in outdoor, sporting goods, or specialty retail
• Knowledge of sustainability practices

Roster & Requirements

• Rostered shifts may include weekends, evenings, and public holidays
• Physical elements of the role include standing for long periods, lifting stock (up to 15kg), and ladder use
• Compliance with workplace health and safety procedures is essential
