At Paddy Pallin we are passionate about environmental preservation so we are proud to support For Wild Places and their incredible work.
For Wild Places combines a passion for running with a love for our wilderness by raising funds and awareness for our natural environments. They encourage everyone, from beginners to seasoned runners to get out into nature and speak up for these marvelous areas. All For Wild Places events cater to the beginner all the way through to the expert trail runner, so get out there and give it a try!
Paddy Pallin has been a supporter of For Wild Places since the conception during the 2019 takayna Ultra, where a group of passionate trail runners signed up to run 65km to protect the ancient Gondwanan Rainforests that is takayna. A small group of people not only completed their first takayna Ultra, but walked away being a part of something much more; the founding members of For Wild Places, a national community dedicated to the protection of wild places, cultural heritage and trail preservation through education, awareness and action.
Paddy Pallin has since become an active supporter of For Wild Places and their actions, including the inaugural Pilliga Ultra, 2022, a 50km and 20km run through the Pilliga Forest, custodial lands of the Gomeroi people, to protect the forest from Coal Seam Gas drilling by mining giant, Santos. For Wild Places teamed up with the Wilderness Society and the local Gomeroi people to raise a whopping $82,000 to protect The Pilliga.
We are proud to sign up as the first Collective Member of For Wild Places, a membership for ethical corporations to give their support to a community and movement doing amazing work in the outdoor space.
