LGBTQ+ inclusion in the outdoors is important work. Historically, marginalised groups in the outdoors do not have access to mentorship or like-minded peers who are willing to accept them, leading to feelings of exclusion. ClimbingQTs is an LGBTQ+ rock climbing organisation and advocacy group with programs and events all across so-called Australia, where climbers have the opportunity to mix and socialise, learn new skills, connect with nature and find a sense of belonging in the gym and at the crag.

MONTHLY EVENTS

ClimbingQTs has run a range of monthly events both indoors and outdoors since 2018, and their reach has now expanded beyond their original Melbourne community across all states in Australia. All climbing levels are welcome, and events range from monthly meet-ups, to inclusive indoor climbing sessions and multi-day outdoor adventures. 

TRAINING & EDUCATION

ClimbingQTs also offers skills clinics and education workshops for outdoor and sports organisations to help them better support the LGBTQ+ community and foster a more inclusive environment. The online training and education programme is designed by and for the LGBTQ+ community with experts skills in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, as well as intersectional LGBTQ+ lived experience.
