The Petzl ACTIK packs practical brightness into a tough, easy-to-use package. With 450 lumens on tap and a choice of wide or mixed beams, it handles everything from cooking dinner to navigating technical trail. The headband is adjustable and washable, the lamp body tilts smoothly, and there’s a red mode when discretion matters. Petzl’s HYBRID CONCEPT means it ships ready to go on AAA batteries, and also works with the CORE rechargeable for regular training and travel. A phosphorescent reflector helps you find it in a dark tent, and the LOCK function saves juice in transit.

Is the red light suitable for looking at animals in the night and not blinding them?

The red function will be useful as it is less harsh than white light and the animals are less likely to be startled however, at close range you make still disrupt them.
