Which brands of tents does Paddy Pallin stock?

A tent is your home away from home in the outdoors. But which one to choose? At Paddy Pallin, we stock a large range of hiking and camping tents from quality brands including MSR, Nemo, Mont, Marmot and Wilderness Equipment. Our tent range includes models sized for 1, 2 and 3 and 4 people.

Does Paddy Pallin sell ultralight tents?

Our range of tents is primarily aimed at customers undertaking self-supported activities such as hiking, mountaineering, bike-packing and ski touring. Most of our models are lightweight, and several fall into the ultralight category. 

Which brands of sleeping bags are available at Paddy Pallin? 

Going camping without a warm enough sleeping bag can turn an otherwise wonderful trip into an uncomfortable disaster. Sleeping bags are rated for warmth, and we have a range of different down sleeping bags and synthetic-filled sleeping bags. Our range caters for all kinds of climates and temperatures, with options from leading brands such as Mont, Sea To Summit, Nemo and Marmot. 

Do I need a sleeping bag liner?

A good quality sleeping bag should give you many years of faithful service. One of the best ways to make sure your sleeping bag performs as intended is to keep it clean, especially from the sweat and dirt from your body. We always recommend using a sleeping bag insert or liner, particularly if your sleeping bag is down-filled. Sleeping bag liners will keep your bag cleaner and can also add some extra warmth to your bag. The Sea To Summit range of Thermolite Reactor liners can add several degrees of extra warmth to a bag and can be useful for that one-off colder than usual adventure. 

Can I buy a camping quilt or blanket at Paddy Pallin? 

While sleeping bags will usually be the warmest and lightest option for outdoor sleeping, some people like the simplicity of a quilt. Our range of Rumpl puffy blankets offers a great alternative, being warm, lightweight and very compact. They’re colourful, feature some funky designs and look fantastic too! Hot tip: Rumpl blankets are great for use at home too, not just camping.  

What types of camping mattresses and pillows are available at Paddy Pallin? 

Along with a sleeping bag, a good quality camping sleeping mat is vital to sleeping comfortably outdoors. Our range includes models from Nemo, Sea To Summit and Thermarest. There are two main types; self-inflating and air-filled. We suggest testing out the different types to see what you find most comfortable. Be sure to pick an insulated model if you’re headed somewhere cold! We also stock a selection of lightweight and packable pillows to round out your sleeping kit. 

What type of camping food is available at Paddy Pallin? 

Our selection of camping and hiking food is mainly in the lightweight and simple to prepare category. We stock a range of freeze-dried and dehydrated camping food, from Australian brand Campers Pantry and NZ based Backcountry Cuisine. These camping meals are compact, lightweight, yummy and super simple to prepare (just and boiling water). We also stock a range of snacks, gels and energy bars to keep you fueled up on all adventures. 

What kind of camping stoves does Paddy Pallin sell? 

Our range of camping stoves are all compact and lightweight, but there are a few different styles available. The most popular kind of stove is a ‘gas canister’ stove which uses a small canister of butane as the fuel source. These are quick, maintenance-free and mega simple to use. Another style of stove, popular with cold-weather trips or really long self-supported adventures is the multi-fuel stove. These require a little more maintenance but are very versatile and super efficient on fuel. The final type of stove is a Trangia, which is a stove that burns methylated spirits. These are great for families with kids, as you are protected from the flame, but cooking times are slower. 

Does Paddy Pallin sell pots and other camp kitchen products?

Aside from a stove, there are a few other essentials you’ll need for your camp kitchen. We stock a range of lightweight camping cooking equipment. Our range includes everything from lightweight pots and pans, plates, cups, bowls, bottles, coffee brewing solutions, fuel bottles, small plastic containers and cutlery. We also sell other little essentials such as firelighters and even some ultralight packable kitchen sinks!

Are torches, lanterns and headlamps available at Paddy Pallin? 

One of the best parts about camping is being away from electricity! When the sun goes down the stars come out. But we still need to see and get around in the dark. Our range of LED headlamps, hand torches, camping lights and lanterns will make sure you’re not stumbling around and tripping over things in the darkness. Headlamps are perfect for hand-free lighting and great for hiking at night too, whilst lanterns make great tent lights. Hot Tip: Look for rechargeable models to save on battery wastage. 

What about camp toiletries and bathroom products?

Keeping clean and hygienic is just as important in the outdoors as it is at home. Paddy Pallin’s range of portable toiletries and camp bathroom products include small plastic bottles, biodegradable liquids and cleaning gels, trowels, sunscreen, travel towels, washing lines, insect repellant, water treatment tablets, toilet roll holders, toiletry bags and even a nifty pocket camping shower!

Does Paddy Pallin sell camping furniture? 

Paddy Pallin’s range of camping gear is primarily in the ultralight and ‘backpack friendly’ category so we do not stock a big range of camping furniture. For those who just can’t adventure without a comfy seat, we do stock the ultralight and very comfortable Helinox camping chairs, which pack down so small you can even take them hiking!
